Dontez "Don" Bowman

Don has been detailing cars since he was twelve years old. That was more than thirty years ago, and he has not stopped since. What started as a kid taking pride in making a car shine turned into a craft, and then into a calling. For more than twenty of those years he has done it professionally, and he is still chasing the same thing he was chasing back then: a car that looks better leaving than it did coming in.

Ask anyone at the shop and they will tell you the same thing. Don sees what other people miss. A swirl buried in the clear coat, a haze on the glass, a speck of overspray, a seam most of us would walk right past. He catches it, and then he corrects it, because to Don a car is not finished until it is actually finished. That kind of eye does not come from a class. It comes from thirty years of caring about the part nobody else notices.

Every vehicle that leaves our lot goes through Don first. That is not a policy we wrote to sound good. It is just how he works. He will not hand a car back until it meets his standard, and his standard is higher than just about anyone you will meet in this business. If it is not right, it does not leave. Simple as that.

What drives him is not the paint or the polish. It is the moment a customer walks up and sees their car the way Don sees it. Quality and a happy customer are the whole job to him, and he treats every single car like it is his own. Whether it is a trade headed for the line or a regular's daily driver, it gets the same obsession. That is who Don is, and it is a big part of why people trust what leaves our lot.
